Swingin’ Harmony Personnel

  • Ken Hersey - Director

Ken joined Swingin’ Harmony as Bandleader in 2024, marking his return to directing after several decades since he led the jazz band at NASA GSFC. Throughout the intervening years, whether mentoring individuals at Hersey Digital Recording or advising local instrumental ensembles, Ken has consistently aimed to stretch musicians to new levels while keeping it fun!

Initially concentrating on trumpet performance during his formative years in North Carolina, supported by a music minor from Meredith College, Ken derives immense satisfaction from both directing, and listening particularly to ensembles that feature his talented family members.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Ken dedicates his daytime hours to engineering cool stuff for space.
